Outstanding in the Field.
The North American Tour is sponsored by Outstanding in the Field. Their mission is to re-connect diners to the land and the origins of their food, and to honor the local farmers and food artisans who cultivate it.
A Restaurant without walls.
Outstanding in the Field is a roving culinary adventure.Since 1999, theyhave set the long table at farms or gardens, on mountain tops or in sea caves, on islands or at ranches.
The long table.
Ingredients for the meal are almost all local (sometimes sourced within inches of your seat at the table!) and generally prepared by a celebrated chef of the region. After a tour of the site, they all settle in: farmers, producers, culinary artisans, and diners sharing the long table.
North American Tour 2010.
Sage Mountain Farm is proud to be one of the host farmers for Outstanding in the Field's "2010 North American Tour".
On Friday, June 25, 2010 you can be a special guest at our "long table". For tickets, please click here.
You will have a choice of wheat field or olive orchard. Both are great sites for a dining table. It's nice to have choices.
Top Chef.
Our guest chef, Ilan Hall just opened his new restaurant, "The Gorbals". At age 24, on the series still most-watched episode, Ilan Hall won Bravo TV’s reality competition, Top Chef.
Ilan will have olives and wheat to work with, but also a wide variety of fresh organic vegetables grown on the farm.
Note from Don Cook: This event, like all other North American Tour events, will sell out quickly. Please don't procrastinate about buying tickets, as we would love to see you there!
