A message from Scott Gilden.

Hello Qualcomm,

Here is the information you have all requested. We have decided to go with Sage Mountain Farms for Qualcomm’s CSA program.

Sage mountain Farms are Certified Organic Growers, and are registered with the Riverside County and State of California Departments of Agriculture. They belong to an organization called Willing Workers on Organic Farms (WWOOF), and as a result host people from around the country and the world that come to share their experiences, to learn, and to work on their farm.

Their CSA is made up of two Certified Organic farms, Sage Mountain Farm in Aguanga, California and De Luz Farms and Nursery in Temecula, California. Each farm has its own unique growing climate. Sage Mountain Farm is well known in the inland empire for their wonderful vegetables grown with pure well water. De Luz farms and Nursery located in the hills above Temecula has been growing avocados, citrus and other subtropical fruits for many years.  This arrangement allows our CSA to offer a wider variety of fruits and vegetables than many other CSAs.

All of Sage Mountain’s fruits and vegetables are grown on a family farm using sparkling clean natural well water and healthy organic processes. Because of the high desert property, they also use pure organic guidelines to raise steers, chickens, pigs and goats, so that they can enjoy farming in the wilderness -away from all conventional type farms and practice and maintain a sustainable lifestyle.  If you are interested in sampling any of Sage Mountain’s produce they are at the Hillcrest Farmers Market weekly, as well as many other markets.

Depending on the amount of people who sign up for the program we will be able to have two pick up spots one on the Morehouse Campus and one on the WT campus. As of now we are projecting a Wednesday drop off between 1:30 & 2:00pm.

Scott Gilden,
QREF Senior Manager of Food Services
